Post Production in Nepal | Film Development and Production Fund

 Post Production in Nepal

The Film Development and Production Fund exists to offer development and production funding for feature length films and documentaries being made by filmmakers based in Scotland.

This fund can support the following stages of the process:

  • Single Project Development Funding: support towards the initial development costs of a single feature film or documentary project.
  • Film Production Funding: support towards the production costs for a film or documentary project

The aim of this funding is to support filmmakers who are working in live-action, animation and documentary, to develop a range of feature film projects across all genres that reflect Scotland’s culture, creativity and diversity. We will support projects with international appeal that have the potential to be distinctive, high-quality and commercially and/or creatively-driven. We will also support projects that enable artists and filmmakers to take risks creatively.

We have adopted the BFI Diversity Standards, initially as a two year pilot, to encourage a more representative and inclusive Scottish film industry.

During this pilot, the Diversity Standards are a part of the eligibility criteria for all applications to our Film Development and Production Fund from 1 April 2022.

For further details about the Diversity Standards and to download the full guidance document, please visit our BFI Diversity Standards - Screen Scotland Pilot page.

To ensure your application meets the eligibility criteria, please read the BFI Diversity Standards guidelines before you complete the Film Development and Production Fund application form.
