Line Production in Kathmandu

 Similar to the local creation of fiction films, documentaries, and music videos, line production in Nepal lacks a historical tradition. It is stated that a 1992 Bollywood film by the name of Khuda Gawah marked the beginning of line production in Nepal. The role of the line producer includes both that of a fixer and that of a producer for the nation in which the movie is set. A line producer's main competence is managing this kind of relationship; they give foreign crews access to local locations, local workers, filming licenses, local casting, etc. The local environment is entered by a line producer for the foreign team. 

The line producer manages nearly all areas of production and is the producer of these films in Nepali cinema's Kollywood.
