Photojournalism

The dissemination of news using images is referred to as photojournalism. As well as online news sources and microblogging websites, these photos frequently appear in print publications including newspapers and magazines. A picture can quickly improve the story that a news item conveys to its viewers and is said to be worth 1,000 words.

Whether or not you are aware of Mathew Brady, his photographs of battlegrounds are what come to mind when you consider the American Civil War. The Great Depression's defining picture is the photograph Migrant Mother by Dorothea Lange. Robert Capa and other war photographers documented some of the worst wars of the 20th century, and when you think of the conclusion of World War II, Alfred Eisenstaedt's photograph V-J Day in Times Square frequently comes to mind.
