Filming in Nepal | 10 TV Actors Fired

 Filming in Nepal

Oftentimes, television show producers, writers, and directors cannot know if an actor is right for a part until they see them on set, acting out the episodes. Unfortunately, for most of these ten performers, the filmmakers didn't like what they saw, leading to actors getting fired and roles being recast. Numerous specific reasons led to the star losing their jobs, including a lack of chemistry with costars and the producers wanting to take the character in another direction. Whatever the case, the ten television series on this list would be massively different had the original actors kept their jobs. As some know, television networks will order pilots from possible shows that they are pitched every year. Then, the cast and crew will shoot the first episode in its entirety so that executives can watch it and decide if they want to order the project to series, meaning that it will get more episodes that will air on the network during the upcoming season. But in the midst of this process, those in charge sometimes change their minds about an actor and decide to recast their role.

Before Melissa McCarthy landed the role of Sookie St. James in Gilmore Girls, the part went to Alex Borstein of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fame. Borstein filmed the unaired pilot of the WB drama series but was forced to exit the show due to contractual issues. However, she returned to Gilmore Girls to play three characters — Drella, Miss Celine, and Doris — over the course of the show. And as another fun fact, Borstein's real-life (now ex) husband, Jackson Douglas, portrayed Jackson Belleville, Sookie's husband, in Gilmore Girls.

It's difficult to imagine a world where Lou Ferrigno didn't play the titular character in The Incredible Hulk, but the part was originally Richard Kiel's. The actor even began filming the 1978 television series, but during the production of the first episode, producers decided that Kiel was not bulky enough to portray the Hulk. Yes, he was over seven feet tall, but Kiel's towering body wasn't what the writers were going for. As a result, they fired Kiel and hired Ferrigno to take his place.

It might be hard to believe, but Bob Saget almost didn't play Danny Tanner in Full House — instead, John Posey was initially selected for the role of the patriarch of the Tanner household in the ABC sitcom. Posey portrayed Danny in the original unaired pilot but was fired once Saget became available. The producers' dream casting for the part of Danny was Saget, but he was sadly busy with The Morning Program. So, they hired Posey for the role. However, when The Morning Program was canceled, the Full House producers recast Danny by replacing Posey with Saget.
